I wish I had time to watch TV. Not sure I would—but I really wish I had the time, because I keep hearing that some of my clients are getting nice buzz from DC-based reality TV shows. The women of Georgetown Cupcake even have their own new show on TLC! It’s already signed for a second season and the media attention is attracting crazy lines at the shops, even in record-breaking DC heatwaves. I really enjoy shooting with them and love their pearl-studded cutie, above. Bravo Network’s Top Chef filmed all over the DC area, and at least two venues for the show are my clients. A few weeks ago, the contestants cooked and served a picnic for Capitol Hill interns on the beautiful grounds of Mount Vernon, where I am shooting a cookbook. And this week, they will be cooking in the kitchen at The Palm. I just shot there for the restaurant’s upcoming

On The Lamb

Shooting Australian lamb for a Meat & Livestock Australia cookbook fills four days on my calendar. DC design firm Levine & Associates is designing this consumer cookbook, and did one for the business-to-business (B2B) market that I shot last year. The B2B book required relatively formal recipe presentations suitable for the higher-end restaurant market, while this publication targets home cooks, allowing us to style food and props in a more rustic fashion.
